what keeps you motivated?

Nurses General Nursing

I'm currently taking finals in my sophomore year of nursing school, it has been stressful & overall exhausting. However through it I have remained motivated, and was wondering what keeps y'all going? Is it a comment by a patient, or a different experience? For me it was a comment by someone when I was at a hospital this past summer. I had gone out of my way to assist a patients family(it was to get chairs, not a huge deal but anyway...). After I had gotten the chairs and I was talking to them just reassuring, and as I was about to leave, they said "you'll be a great nurse."

this one phrase has stuck with me ever since & I'll never forget not only the pure shock on my face that somebody would compliment me like that but also that someone would compliment me like that. It felt really good to hear and it's motivated me through this year and I know it'll continue to push me.

So so what about y'all? What keeps y'all motivated? Besides coffee, coffee also keeps me motivated

My paycheck every two weeks. My paycheck keeps me motivated. Rewarding patient moments are great but they aren't often enough to keep me motivated to do this job day in and day out without financial incentive. That keeps me going.
