what does this mean???????

Can someone tell me what "resource pool" means, I am trying to apply for a job at the hospital and I am not sure what this means.

I think that this means that you are not assigned to one particular floor and that you will just go where needed that day. Float pool.

That's what it means at my hospital. The Resource Pool nurses are oriented to multiple units and come into work not knowing where they will be working that shift. They are assigned to a unit at the last minute based on the sick calls, census, acuity, etc. Sometimes, they will even be pulled to another unit in the middle of a shift if conditions change.

Where I work, only experienced nurses are allowed to work in the Resource Pool. They are paid extra for their flexibility and have more flixibility in setting their schedules as a reward for their ability and willingness to adapt to changing conditions and different units.
