Hi,

I work for Harborside Healthcare,it was just announced that Sun has bought us. I am wondering if anyone out there works for Sun and can give me any "inside scoop" of the company. Dress code, how they do the raises, working conditions, paperwork volume?, insurance? company structure, any help would be appreciated thanks!!!

When Sun bought a nursing home that i worked for, things went from bad to worse.

First they froze our raises. Then they did a serious cut down on the staff, only keeping the minimum staff needed. THEN they did a hiring freeze.

The insurance sucked. If you were pregnant before their insurance went into effect, they considered that a "pre-existing condition" and didn't cover squat for it.

Then they went cheap on housekeeping supplies (paper towels were scarce and the tissues? The BOX they came in was softer!)

Then they went cheap on pt. care items. Desitin and A and D ointment went out the door unless family brought them in. You HAD to use petroleum jelly even on the worst rashes. And the lotion, same price as the old stuff, but very runny and ineffective.

It was a nightmare and 6 months after they had "took over", i left. 2 years later, the place closed. It that 2 years, no one got their raise.

If you are talking about Trisun then lots of luck. I have heard nothing good. All bad. They love suspending you. This little tid bit from someone who has been at the same facility for 18yrs. They remind me for all the world of Texas Health Ent. They got greedy and gobbled up all of the nursing homes they could in the area. Same ones Trisun now owns. I don't know what Texas Health is doing now but they were in the news for the longest about fines, corruption, and all of that sort of thing.

I think the OP means http://www.sunh.com ie SunBridge or Sun Healthcare Group.
