Hi everyone,

I recently applied to San Joaquin Delta college LVN to RN upgrade for Spring 2014 to enter into third semester. I received back a letter stating to submit supporting documentation which I successfully submitted. Is this a good sign or what is usually the next step. I am a little nervous because I am hoping to get accepted and complete the last two semesters and become an RN. Is anyone out there trying to get into Spring 2014? If so, share your situations. also how many clinical days will we be expected to do per week? What time do they start? and what days so they usually fall on?

Any advice from those who have graduated delta college ADN and what to do to be successful :)........your input is greatly appreciated

Thanks

well, it does appear you have moved up the ladder a notch, but the school is the only entitity who knows what the possibiity is that you will be granted entry into the program. Most schools do not start clinicals the first semester at a hospital. Probably a nursing home or rehab center or elsewhere. All the other questions will be answered in orientation. Clinicals start when the shifts start for the licensed staff - so could be 6-7 am. There could be 1-2 per week. Days will depend on what slots the school was able to secure at the facility (other classes and other schools may be wanting the same facility so there has to be some trading). These are relatively minor details that will be revealed as needed.
