Tonight I "lost" my stethoscope! I was going about my business when I suddenly realized I didn't have that familiar weight around my neck. I have a Master Cardio ( a precious gift from my kids) and it is heavy. Panicked...looked everywhere...then burst out laughing. Not too long ago I ordered one of those plastic do-hicky things that hang on your waist band. I had inadvertantly put it there sometime on my busy shift. Don't even remember doing it. Jeez....I am really losing it. But, hey everyone, I really like the plastic holder....saves me from a sore neck. Now if I can just remember that it's down there.

Where did you order the plastic doo-hicky thing? How much?
It sounds like just the thing! My Littman kept a permanent "kink" from hanging around my neck for so many years.
I think I got it from the Jasco Uniform Catalog. It was $4.95 and it really does work. I have heard that the oil from the neck can damage the tubing of your stethoscope. Plus, I don't know about you, but by the time I clip my badge on and my nurse locator clip and I always clip a hemostat to my uniform to hold my tape...I have enough stuff hanging on me!
If you get one be sure to twist it around itself onceso it hangs like a twisted rope. If you just put the ear pieces in and then the bell it makes a wide loop that sticks out and gets in the way.
I recycle pretty fast so I don't have a catalog to give you a specific item number but next time I get on in the mail I will try to email you or post it.

Last time I lost my stethoscope I found it around a doctors neck. I jokingly had to tell him to buy his own.
