Hello everyone

I am a new user and learning how to navigate this site....there are really a lot of interesting topics, so glad to be here. I got my LPN license in January 2011...still havent picked up anything as yet....I was reading about the nurses who are their own bosses (medicaid) and I was thinking that maybe someone could utilize my services as an assistant. I would even give my time freely in exchange for some valuable experience. You know your patients and their families and know which ones will be okay with it. I am in New York City area....this will be greatly appreciated....thank you.

I see you are in NY. Well as a new grad I would say get experience before you go out on your own. You can look into home health (because this is what a lot of those self made nurses do), get your medicaid number (medicaid would list your name to potential clients) and you work and get paid by medicaid. There are a lot of agencies in NY as i just moved away from there and i know. Dont forget to get your malpractice insurance as you get a discount six months after gradaution
