Hi. I am applying for graduate positions and i am struggling with the selection criteria and the wording of my answers. I am wondering if anyone can provide some assistance to the following selection criteria?

Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence based nursing care within the practice setting

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge and experience in the Quality Improvement Cycle and patient safety initiatives.

Thanks so much for any guidance and support

Are you expected to give an example from your previous educational and work experience of how you met each criterion? If so, please write them out and we'll help you "polish" them.

Hi Jolie. Yes we are expected to give an example how we have met each of the criteria.

Following is an example for the criteria: Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

In the nursing profession, effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for quality nursing care and best practice. I possess strong negotiation skills which allow me to effectively advocate on behalf of the patients. I advocated for a patient and his wife during a placement in the Emergency Department, when i found out they would struggle with transport due to the patients injuries, as his wife did not drive. I liaised with an older person home help sector, which spoke to the patient once on the ward to organise a community care in order for his wife to carry out day to day duties. I also pride myself on the strong rapport and professional relationships that i develop with patients and their relatives. My attention to detail ensures that my documentation is accurate and timely, providing my colleagues with valuable information on the progress of patients.

Thank You

This is an interesting start. HOW did you advocate? To whom did you speak? What would be their struggle with transport? Transport to where? What was the final outcome and how did your efforts solve the problem?

Also, please keep in mind the importance of correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.

I liaised with an older person home help sector, which spoke to the patient once on the ward to organise a community care in order for his wife to carry out day to day duties.

I have no idea what this sentence means. What does the phrase, "I liaised" mean? What is "home help sector"? What day to day duties does the patient's wife carry out and why does she need a "community care" in order to do them?

I also pride myself on the strong rapport and professional relationships that i develop with patients and their relatives. My attention to detail ensures that my documentation is accurate and timely, providing my colleagues with valuable information on the progress of patients.

Thank You

In my opinion, it would be best to give clearly stated examples of previous experiences to demonstrate your mastery of these criteria.
