Realities of Travel Nursing CA versus other states

Im new to traveling on the east coast and I must say so far I'm disappointed. They have the same staffing ratio on Tele step down floors (1:4/5) but acuity is higher, pts are ridiculously demanding, crazy policies, plus they are short-staffed (I know that's why hospitals take travelers) and it's unbearable most days. Pay is good but my sanity and stress level are more important to me at this point. I've heard California is better can anyone shed light on their experiences traveling in CA? Is it worth the license and moving? Honest helpful answers only please :)
