Readmission letter into the RN program

Nurses General Nursing

I was in my 2nd semester of RN school and had to withdraw due to my son's health issues. I have been offered to re-enter the program next year. I have to write a readmission letter to the nursing committee. Can someone give me some tips on how to start this letter out. Once I get started, I can usually do well. I want to make sure that I put the pertinent reasons why I want to re-enter the program. Do I state "why" I want to be a nurse? Or do I state, "what I have to offer" if I become a nurse. I am really lost at this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks so much.

I don't see why you just can't confirm your reason for leaving and your ability to pick up where you left off and leave it at that. You convinced them you wanted to be a nurse the first time around. That should no longer be an issue.

i would talk about time management, what you learned, what you will do different schoolwise (i'm not at all trying to say that your son wouldn't come first)

I'm sure they want to see why you will be successful this time around.

Why don't you speak with someone just to clarify what they are looking for? You don't want to address the wrong specifics.

I need to explain why I was unable to complete the course this time and how I believe I will be successful next time. How far into detail should I go about my son? As far as being successful, I was making good grades. I just had to be out at times due to my son being at the doctor all the time. Now that he has been hospitalized, I had no other choice but to withdraw (I am a single mother.) When I talk about being successful next time, do I talk about what kind of help I will have for my son? I'm sorta confused about this.

Since your son is the reason, focus on how you have resolved your son's problems so they will not interfere this time. Very straightforward.

I totally agree.
