Was wondering how it is handeled with c diff precautions are d/c'ed in ltc setting? ie-are ALL clothes/linens/bedding/comforters washed? Say patient has a single room, had c diff and staff used precautions when entering room, etc. Then patient takes flagyl or whatever, and is cleared of precautions. If all the stuff in their room isn't cleaned, couldnt' they pick up the c-diff again?

Yes-everything is laundered and the room is cleaned thoroughly with bleach- C diff can live on surfaces in that room for a long time and some products won't kill it.
