What parts of the United States have a SEVERE nursing shortage?

Specializes in Ortho/Neuro.

I would have to say, not the midwest, at least in my area!

Florida. But wages are low, you'll be critically short staffed most of the time and technology is a century behind. Still using paper charts, cardexes etc.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

The 'Sunbelt' cities with rapidly-growing populations tend to have nursing shortages.

Los Angeles, CA

Las Vegas, NV

Albuquerque, NM

El Paso, TX

Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

San Francisco, CA

San Diego, CA

.....and many more that I cannot think of.

I live in Dallas-Fort Worth and there are many jobs for nurses here.
