hello everyone,
i need some opinions. i was attending keiser university for the rn program, i left due to high tuition and to peruse broward college's rn program. i did my extra pre reqs for broward and applied. i was told it has a high acceptance rate so i figured with my 3.4 i would be in. i got an email today explaining i was being considered as an alternate! i'm worried and dying to know if there is any hope. i had a secure spot at keiser , would have been well into my program but switched. this is what i received:
broward college's (bc) health science admission office reviewed your records and you have been provisionally selected as an alternate for admission to the january 2009 rn program that will begin january 6, 2009. in the event that a student defers or does not respond you will be the next candidate to be offered the seat.
your pre-admission session is scheduled for friday, november 21, 2008 at 1:00pm. the session will be held at the central campus, fau/la building, room 120. please respond to this email (click on reply) by monday, november 10, 2008 to confirm that you will be attending the pre-admissions session.
does anyone think i have any hope in making it into january 09?
thanks for your inputs!

Yes. You have a good chance. Someone who was accepted may pass due to illness, pregnancy or family issues.
If you're not accepted continue to take other classes like electives or classes that could be transferred into a BSN program.

Don't give up! I got my acceptance letter yesterday. I know of others who have also received their acceptance letters but most likely will NOT be able to attend due to life changes. There WILL be alternates who get in the January program. The letter you posted makes it sound like you are first on the alt list. You may want to ask at the Heath Services Office what place you are on the list. Best of luck and never, never give up!

Keep your hopes up! Lots of people get accepted into several schools so they can't accept them all!
