Nursing Student Needs Help...please?

HI everyone... I'm writing a paper on advocacy and I was wondering if I could get some of your opinions....

"How do you, as an RN, teach a patient how to advocate for themselves?"

Any stories or examples are greatly appreciated and will be of tremendous help!!!

Ask yourself: what does it take for you to help yourself? Resource person, internet info, financial motivation---whatever. Then guide your pt. to those things. Mostly people need hope and your caring attitude.
