I am not aware of the type of defibrillators you use in the USA, but we have recently progressed to automated defibs.
I witnessed a lady go into pulseless VT today and shocked her.
I didn't feel anything at the time ( apart from the adrenaline pumping thro my veins), but I now feel so proud to be a nurse. I am the first nurse in our hospital to defib a patient and the first to get one back.
I'm not a person to blow my own trumpet and I'm usually very lacking in confidence.
It was a terrible day but it has made me feel whole again, it makes up for all the ones you loose.
There is nothing like getting somebody back from a code. It very rarely happens, but when it does, it makes all of the others to come worthwhile. Keep up the good work!:)
