LVN to RN Schools

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I have been a LVN for almost 2 years. I have applied to schools in CA for the past 4 years trying to get into an RN program. Interested to know if anyone is aware of schools that have direct admission for an LVN to RN bridge program. I am willing to move if the school is in an area with low living costs. I am the sole provider for my household as my husband is not healthy, so I will need to continue working while going to school.

I do not have recency with my pre-req's. My Phys and Micro classes were in the past 5 years but my anatomy class was about 12 years ago. I have been in the healthcare field for 20+ years and I do have an Associates in LVN

Thank you in advance for your help. Desperate to move into the next phase. Not interested in any online programs and I would prefer an assoicates program

I hope you are able to locate a school that fits your needs.

Perhaps some of our members will be able to give some advice.

I wish you success with this challenge!

Have you checked into Indiana State University? Its an LPN-BSN program, all online, and you do clinical's in your local area.

I just got accepted and start this fall. I also work full time and I'm a mom. Check it out.

Unfortunately, University of Indiana is not accepted in California.

Check your local community colleges. I'm in the Bay Area (not really cheap, but just to give you an idea...), City College of San Francisco has a two year program (bridge and they want your classes within 5 years), College of San Mateo is a 1 year program (bridge and they'll take your first go around, so you wouldn't have to repeat your anatomy). DeAnza has a two year program. Contra Costa Community College has a program that is also two years. The one I looked into with the most flexible schedule is CSM, but their LVN to RN waitlist is really gnarly. First year RN students have to fail for an LVN to RN spot to open up.

Where in California are you?
