I have already posted a thread with questions but i only got about half onei have 5 more that i really need help with woul anyone who is a nurse please answer the following questions!!! i will really appreciate it!!!
What do you think best prepared you for the the job?
What is the hardest part of your job?
Do you think your job is important/difficult?
What are the benefits of your job?
What are other jobs related to your field?
once again it woul really help if you coul answer!!!!

1. I didn't want to see people sick or die. I was willing to do whatever it took to help people get well. I had to have intelligence, emotional maturity, and intuitive abilities in addition to physical dexterity and strength.

2. Making life-and-death decisions in seconds, on your feet, with plenty of distractions.

3. I believe nurses have one of the most important, difficult careers on the planet.

4. Other jobs related to nursing or related to healthcare? I'm not sure I understand the question.

4. Benefits are knowing you made a difference in someone's life every day you work. As far as money, I don't believe we get paid enough or get enough benefits for what we give to society.

Thankyou so much this really helped me, for the reason that it is a grade in my class and the reason that i'm learning even more things about this career! i'm only 14 but i know all that i do to succeed and i've gotten straight A's since i could start getting them just so i could aim for a good career, and this really does seem like a career i woul want for a life time!!! 1. what makes me prepared for the job is the education and trainings i took and takin in.

2. the hardest part, honestly, is being bugged by our conscience (see, we are dealin with human life here so we should be intellectual, knowledgeable , and do extra carefull in everything)

3. it is indeed very important and at the same time difficult coz it is either we're lengthenin or shortenin ones life...

4. benefits? the feeling that you helped someone in a way..

5. medicine, therapist, pharmaceutical, midwifery...

what do you think best prepared you for the the job?

working in the real world before i did nursing. i started my bachelor of education initially, and while i was academically doing well, the children had me twisted around their little fingers.

in other words, i had to learn how to develop communication skills and relate to people. i was quite shy at the time.

what is the hardest part of your job?

spending time with people who are not coping with their illnesses or life situations.

you can give people medication, keep them clean and comfortable, but you can't always help them return to the life they had before. that is really hard for people to adjust to. they have debts to pay, family to care for, and work responsibilties, plus have to pay for medical bills.

it is hard to find the right answers. there are no right answers, and all we can do sometimes is listen so people can vent their feelings. they may cry, get angry, and emotions are something i find very hard to cope with, because i don't like seeing ppl upset or distressed.

but i have learnt that if you spend the time, just listening, it is so worth it.

what i cannot accept is the aggression / physical abuse that i have experienced.

do you think your job is important/difficult?

both. without nurses, doctors wouldn't know what is happening to their patients. nurses are there 24 hours a day. we monitor our patients closely. we are the first one's there when someone becomes really sick, and we start appropriate care before the doctors get there. they add to it.

we administer the medications, we educate our patients, we care for them as a whole person, not just 'that person who has a fractured femur'. we prevent skin sores, attend to dressings etc and we need to have knowledge of diseases, healing processes, and methods as a result.

what are the benefits of your job?

watching someone heal and walk out of the building. or if they can't watching someone learn to adjust to their situation, perhaps leave in a different way eg a wheelchair and most importantly, take control, being active in their care.

what are other jobs related to your field?

nursing historically had a very encompassing role, as time has gone on, other professions have grown out of it. physiotherapy, speech therapy, dietetics, occupational therapist.. we do still follow basic principles in order to promote ambulation, ensure people are getting the right diet, able to care for themselves. midwifery used to be an exclusively nursing field over 100 yrs ago.

Nursing school clinicals and my experience as an EMT/first responder

What is the hardest part of your job?

Stress - tremendous responsibility with many demands, short staffing, critical issues concerning patients.

Do you think your job is important/difficult?

It's both - very important - nothing more important than caring for someone in need. Difficult because you have many demands and you must be constantly vigiliant for any changes in your patient's status besides keeping up with your normal workload.

What are the benefits of your job?

When you know you've made a difference in someone's life (or helped someone die peacefully - helping the family/friends at that difficult time) When someone says to me "you're the best nurse we've had here - thank you so much".....

What are other jobs related to your field?

Any job that involves caring for patients - doctors, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, dieticians, medical lab techs....
