Help with BRN Interim Permit question

Can anyone please help? I already applied for my nursing license and I received the ATT and scheduled the date to take my NCLEX. However, I did not apply for an interim permit because my instructor told me it wasn't necessary. Well, it turns out that I couldn't schedule to take the test any sooner than July 6th. I got a job and will be starting July 25th. I need to have either my license number or an interim permit by July 25th or I can't start working.

So..... my question is: How do I apply for an Interim Permit if I have already submitted an application for my license and been authorized to test. I have looked all over the BRN webiste rn.ca.gov and I tried calling them but can never get through. Does anyone know if I am even allowed to apply for an interim permit once my application for license has already been submitted? I appreciate any help. Thank you! :)

I think you have to apply for Interim Permit when you submit your application...bc at the end of the application, it says CHECK HERE if you want to apply for Interim Permit, and you have to pay an additional $50 fee.

I graduated last month... A few people told me to get an interim permit "just in case". I did research & didn't listen to them...& saved myself $50!!

An IP is only valid until you take your NCLEX, regardless of whether you pass (which you will!) or fail.

So, since you're taking your NCLEX before your New Grad program starts (I am too!) it doesn't matter, and you don't need an IP.

Temporary Registered Nurse License - Interim Permit Verification

The Board of Registered Nursing issues temporary registered nurse licenses and interim permits. Individuals who have passed the NCLEX-RN in another state and hold an active, current, and clear license are eligible for the temporary license (TL). Applicants who have recently graduated from a registered nursing program, and have not taken the NCLEX-RN are eligible for an interim permit (IP). An interim permit is not renewable and is in effect to the expiration date or until the results of the examination are mailed, at which time it becomes null and void.

i believe most BONs issue a license number immediately they get your score (which is basically 3days after taking it). Most but i cant speak for all
