Got a Lump in my Throat

I'm doing a 5 mile walk for Breast Cancer on Sunday, Oct. 13. When I told my 11 year old son I was going to do it he asked if he could walk with me "'cause you have a lump in your breast and I want to help you". Evan will be walking with me next Sunday. We are now working on getting him sponsers so he can get his own tee shirt. Gotta make you feel good when your kids respond like this. I really feel blessed today.

If I lived near you, I'd sign up for that five mile walk myself. Wear your most comfortable shoes, and pack some water. Have fun with your little one that day, too as you walk together for a good cause. :kiss

Connie, Sounds like your a wonderful mom!! Enjoy the day with your your son.... May God bless you and your family.. Linda

Thanks gang. I'm really looking forward to the walk. Evan already has $58.00 in pledges! I have an old pair of work shoes that I plan to wear, they're the most comfortable pair of shoes I ever had. I always say I must walk 10 miles a day, so now we'll see if I really do! The walk should be great, we start at the Philadelphia Art Museum and walk 2.5 miles down the West River Drive then turn around and go back. The scenery will be gorgeous, the walk will take us along Boat House Row. Now, I have to get busy getting pledges! ;)

I am walking with my sister's boys. This is the first year that she hasn't been able to walk with them because her breast cancer that we thought had been resolved for 7 years has (in the last 2 months) metastisized to her spine, skull, liver and stomach. The 11 year old has collected over 700 dollars in pledges. Getting involved is making him feel more in control. I am very proud of all of them.

God Bless you and your family. What a wonderful way to support your sister and her boys. I'll be thinking of you while I'm walking.

Connie, you must be very proud, your sons are very sweet to support you and each other. :) Enjoy the walk.

BBnurse, I'll keep your sister and family in my prayers. God bless you all.
