Hello to all!!!!

My cousin on my husband's side just recently went to the navy and they told him has G6PD. What in the world is that? I'm a Medical Assistant and if I'm correct I remember that PD means, skin? But what does the G6 mean? If I goofed on the PD please excuse.

Any feedback would be great..... I told his mom I would try to help her find out what it is.:)
