Floor Nurse and Unit Nurse

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Can someone please tell me the difference between the two. I am currently a senior nursing student working as an Extern at a local hospital. One of the nurses there mentioned to me that I should be a "unit nurse" and not a "floor Nurse". Unfortunately we got busy shortly after and I was not able to get further information on this. Can anyone clear it up for me?

Thanks

Usually "unit" means ICU and "floor" means med-surg or other non-ICU.
