I was wondering if any of the hospital/facilities you work at charge there staff to take classes through there own education department and what do they charge?. Like BLS, ACLS or PALS. Chemo certification, EKG etc. Even if its mandatory for your job.

I've never paid for any classes that are mandated for my position.

My facility doesn't charge for classes but you do have to sign an agreement that says if you quit in less than a year they get to withold the cost of the class from your final paycheck.

all education is free at my hospital, unless you miss the class. Students must sign payroll deduction form prior to class and if they are no-shows, they pay. They also pay if the class is required for job but they let it expire. They get paid for the hours they are in the class, unless they are expired.
BTW, we do not pay for license renewal and that is also required for the job.

Once you are an employee, the employer is not legally allowed to charge for any mandated classes.
