Does any one know what an Outcomes Manager is/does?

I'm currently interested in entering into the Medical field in the future and so far I'm not particularly sure which field/profession I am more interested in. (I have shadowed and volunteered at the hospital numerous times but I'm still not sure!)

When I recently visited the hospital, I saw a woman wearing a name tag that had the words Outcomes Manager in the Nurses's station on the floor that I was on.

I've tried looking up the job online, but not much results appear to pop up with an exception of salary...

I know that this is a forum for mainly nurses, but does anyone here know about this job (like have a friend or family in this field)?

What do they do at the hospital? Is it very stressful? How much schooling is it? And is there a demand?
