Hello,

I am finally due to graduate this May! I am so excited :) The problem is I have never worked before. I never worked in highschool or college. My focus has always been school and family. When I go to apply for job I know they will want to know about past work history etc. I am almost 30 and have been married and a stay at home mom since I earned my first degree in communications back in 1999. I have been very active in Nursing school on the state, local and national level in nursing organizations but still do not have a paying job:) Do you think this is something that will prevent me from getting a job?

I don't think it will matter at all. You will be the same as any new graduate nurse, looking for that first nursing job. In my area, hospitals start recruiting during the clinical orientations-trying to present their facility as a great place to work. It's not like posting a resume, where employers are wondering why you haven't worked. You haven't worked in nursing because you didn't have a license...

And look at the bright side of this. You are starting with a clean slate. No negative situations to explain or wonder what so and so said about you (and they do sometimes say things they shouldn't). Just be positive, enthusiastic, and ready to show how ready you are to be a valuable addition to any work place. Good luck. Look forward to having you post your first reactions to your first job!

I'm sure you did plenty of work, you just did it at home! :coollook:

Yes, no problem. I think we all panic about finding a job when it gets close to graduation. Have faith, you'll get one no problem. Just apply all over.
