I used 'Nursing Diagnosis Handbook: A guide to planning care' by Ackley and Ladwig, published by Mosby. I found it to be very helpful.
Might want to try going to Barnes & Noble or some other bookstore in your area to browse through and find what you like. The internet might be another good source but you may not be able to flip through the book.
Does your school, or instructors have any suggestions? Sometimes they do. :)
i would not recommend 'nurse's pocket guide: diagnoses, interventions, and rationales' i found that book to be a waste of about $30.
all the books i used i checked-out from the library. i found this one to be helpful:
nursing diagnosis reference manual-4th ed. by sparks & taylor. published by springhouse in 1998
any book that gave nursing diagnosis according to the medical diagnosis was wonderful.
good luck!!!! :)
For Nursing Diagnosis I like the Mi Ja Kim book...Pocket Guide to Nsg Dx....but I think it might be out of print, anyway it's worth the $25 or so I spent on it.
The Lippincott Medical Surgical Textbook is good also if you want to know about diseases. That was the basis for our hospitals procedure manual.
For quick, thorough information you rally can't beat the Merck Manual.....I've had the newest on in print since the 70's and I have kept them ALL. They even have it on the web now.
http://www.merckmanual.com maybe?

Hello there! I am starting nursing in the fall. Does anyone have a suggestion on a good diagnosis book and any other guides that would help with the curriculum of nursing?
Thanks,
Raynee
