Nurses General Nursing

Published

My name is Tami and Im a senior this year. I have a GPA of 3.4 and a rank of 70 out of 165. I took the SATs the 1st time and got a 1260 out of 2400 (I know, terrible!) So i retook them and I should be getting my results Nov. 24, 09. So anyways, I really want to get into nursing but im not sure which college to closely look at.

I was going to apply to Fairleigh Dickinson, Rutgers-New Brunswick, William Patterson, Richard Stockton, Ramapo and UCC- Trinitas School of Nursing. Does anyone recommend any of these nursing majors at these colleges? Im really clueless and I cant really find anyone talking about how great these nursing programs are online.. Most positive feedback I got from a college was William Patt.

Please help, im clueless and confused :(

Look at their NCLEX pass rate and drop out rates.

If you are looking to get a BSN, some of those schools offer it, such as Farleigh Dickinson and Rutgers and some only offer a ADN, such as Trinitas. So, first decide if you want to go for the BSN or the ADN or go for the ADN first then eventually to a BSN later.

I'm a Rutgers grad, so I'm biased by saying go for Rutgers. However, do the research first. Yes, I graduated from Rutgers, but in a different field. No clue about their Nursing program. I'm returning back to school for an Accelerated BSN, and I'm looking at UMDNJ and not Rutgers because UMDNJ's ABSN program requires less prerequisite classes than Rutgers' ABSN. Good luck.

Where can you find this info?

Try going to your states Board of Nursing website and search from there. I know that is how you find that information for California.
