Can't get a job!!

Nurses General Nursing

Hi,

I am really in a very sad situation. I graduated with BSN 5 years back in another country a and worked for a year in hospital setting. Other than that, I have a masters in closely related healthcare field and have few experiences in that field, but no nursing experience here in the US. I gave NCLEX last year and since then, I have been applying to numerous jobs only to get rejection after rejection. What do you guys suggest?

My theory is brushed up since I just gave NCLEX. But I dont have any hands on nursing experience within last 4 years. I don't live in a very large city, its kind of suburb, but still so hard to find a job. Please suggest me what should I do and how to land into a nursing job. I really really want to work.

Thank you for your time reading through it...

Move? And after you get some recent experience, maybe you can move back.

Home health? If you speak a language other than English, your language skills will be attractive if the agency has a case where the family speaks that language.

Long term care, dialysis, developmentally disabled, home health, private duty are all places that tend to be more little/no experience friendly. Try the places no one else wants to work. It'll get you experience that you can use to move on to your next job. Good luck!

Is there a refresher course you could take? I've heard of some refresher courses that include some hands-on clinical experiences.
