So back in 07 i went to school for a year and a half with no direction and had lots of fs on my transcript. Now i 10 years later i am starting over and wanting to be a nurse. But with those old grades will they haunt me and not let me get a job once i graduate? There were a lot of fs just fyi i would never show up for class at the time

No one cares what your grades were once you graduate.

Nope, Most nursing programs have core prerequisite classes on which they base your application GPA. Find out what those classes are for the program you are applying to and get A's in all those classes. Nursing is competitive and requires a 3.5 to 4.0 GPA on those classes to get in.

Oh ok i had heard that since nursing is so competitive that when applying for a job they will look at your grades

In some places, they do ...especially for new graduate nurse programs. A bigger challenge might be actually getting into a nursing program, though. Grades are usually a huge factor. Retakes are not always recognized.

Hey there, it is a bit of a complicated answer. Mainly depending on where you are located and what courses you failed.

I am from the northeast section of the country and did not take college seriously and failed some courses. I eventually saw the errors in my ways and retook the failed courses and proceeded to apply to nursing school. With my admission application I attached a letter explaining what occurred on during my early collegiate career and what I have done to remedy the situation to prevent it from happening again.

Will this work for everyone no, but research and knowledge about the schools in your area go a long way. Best of luck in your educational career.
