Can anyone tell me about spinal cord injury center?

I have an interview on that unit next week. I applied for a Graduate Nurse position and this is what they offered me because of my clinical experience. It sounds interesting, but it wasn't my first choice. Can anyone shed some light and tell me about this unit? I'm a little nervous and scared!

Is it a rehab?

It is acute care and rehab.

They take patients that have had injuries to their spinal cord from either trauma, injury, or disease process. Many of the patients do not have full use of their arms and or legs and will be getting heavy duty rehab to get them in the best shape possible for returning to their previous life when possible.

When injuries like this occur, the patient is initially in an ICU type setting, then from there they can move to a general nursing floor, and then to a rehab facility like this. Sometimes they move directly to this type of facility if their specific case warrants it.

From what I know right now, I will get a 12 week orientation.
