It all depends on what you want. I worked as a tech in a VA facility that had horrible staff/patient ratios. The pay was a bit lower than the other local hospitals, but the benefits were awesome, lots of time off paid.
I choose to work in a not-for-profit. The ratio fluctuate daily with no rhyme or reason, depending on the staff available. The pay and benefits are good.

This may be a broad question, but where are the best places for nurses to work? Private/Public/Federal/State Hospitals? That is based on everything from Rate of Pay, Staff/Pt Ratio, Bene's, etc??? I have heard that VA or a federal facility is best????
