Back to school for MN or MPH

Nurses General Nursing

Hello nurses!

I recently graduate in Dec 2015 and worked as a nurse for a couple of months till I was promoted to AHN, I then moved to another facility to become a nursing coordinator. I love my management jobs and I'm just trying to figure out what will be the right masters program for me. Have any of you nurses chosen a masters of public health over a masters of nursing? Are there benefits to doing so? Or should I continue with a masters of nursing and accumulate hours to one day apply into the NP program?

thank you all

Depends - what career directions are you aiming for? If you're on a path to nursing leadership, you'll need your MSN. If you're more interested in delivering care rather than administration and leadership, an NP is probably the right choice. I don't know enough about options for MPH folks, so no opinions for that option.

Thank you for the reply,

I'm trying to connect with nurses who have chosen a masters of public health. So far no luck :(
