Hi,

Is anyone applying to Northern Essex Community College RN program Fall 08.

I just took my TEAS test and scored a 73 overall and not sure if it's good enough to get into the program. I got A's in A&P. Is anyone familiar with this program? Thanks

I was just doing a google search trying to see if anyone had TEAS info for the program (I've also applied for '08). I unofficially heard that you need at least an 80 on the TEAS. Sorry! If I learn anything more, I'll post another reply.

Hi Daisylady did you take the TEAS already? Thanks for the reply I'm hoping to get in for 08 if not I think they have a waiting list. Are you taking any classes this semester I'm taking Micro. Good luck

Hi! I am actually taking 3 courses - A&P II with Gorcyzca (spelling?), Eng Comp II and Dev Psy I. I'm just trying to wrap all that extra stuff before *hopefully* getting into the program this fall. Who do you have for Micro? I may take that with Gorcyzca this summer. I just love him!

I just took the TEAS a few weeks ago and we were talking about it my A&P class. That was how I heard they look for an 80 on the exam. I am going to pick the brain of a woman who got in under early admissions. I'll let you know what she tells me.

I have a feelign I'm going to drive my family crazy between now and March 31!

Hello,

I am taking Micro with White, and he is pretty cool. I have been driving my family crazy also. I can't wait to find out. It's so stressful.

I was hoping to do better on the Teas. On the Math section I ran out of time.... Oh Well. See ya

I don't know if anyone still looks at this message, but I just got my acceptance letter today... I did horrible on the TEAS. like 98 and 96 on english 70 something on the science and like not even a 60 on the math haha... I'm not even bad at math I just felt like I didn't have enough time to complete it so I ended up filling in random answers at the end...

But yeah, I am starting for Fall 2008... Has anyone heard about the program from anyone who has already started? :nurse:

OK... So I know this is going to sound totally boitchy, but AAARRRGGGHHHHHH! :banghead:

Please don't be offended. I did really well on the TEAS (in the high 80s overall - 100 on reading and english, and mid 70s in sciene and math), I've got a 4.0 GPA - all NECC courses, I was given an academic scholarship for this semester and I got wait listed. What the heck!!!

Congrats to you! I've heard the most difficult aspect is managing all the time between lecture, lab and clinical. Good luck!

No, I'm not offended, don't worry. I would be frustrated too. Sometimes I don't understand why they do things the way they do. I didn't mean to sound so nonchalant about it either. I also took all my prereqs at NECC and had a 4.0. I worked my butt off. The only thing that I messed up on was the math and I attribute that mostly to the fact that I just ran out of time, but I was still pretty bummed out about it. I really thought I wouldn't get in because of it to be honest.

I also have a Bachelor's degree in another field. I don't know if that helped me at all or if they even look at that, but it could be a possibility.

I'm sorry you are so frustrated :( Did you apply anywhere else?

I didn't apply anywhere else. Riveria is too far away (or maybe I'm just too lazy!) and I've heard bad things about New Hampshire Community Tech's program. I guess I'll wait it out until '09, but man I'll be bored between now and then!

I've also got a BA, but I had to retake a ton of classes because I graduated in.... 1994! If I knew then what I know now, it would have been so much easier. You could actually walk into a nursing program back in the olden days. :)

I'm honestly pleased when I hear people get in. For those of us who are serious about the program really work our butts off. Truth be told, I could use the break between now and '09. But watch, I'll have the mindset that I'm not going to start until next year and I'll get called off the wait list and I'll be running like a chicken with its head cut off.

OK, I've gabbed enough. I'm going to go have a glass of wine. A little pity drink for not getting in and a celebration for at least getting on the wait list!

Congrats to you!!! :yeah: I'd love to hear about your experience in a year from now, so keep this site bookmarked. Best of luck!

Yes, I will definitely keep you up to date and let you know how the classes are. I am excited, but nervous. I graduated with my BA in 2005, so a little more recent.

My major concern right now is trying to handle paying for it! I still have loans from 4 years at Merrimack College.

I haven't heard much about Middlesex, but that was the other school I applied to... they accept on a rolling basis, and I think some of their sessions start in January, but I'm not sure!! You could always look into that in the meantime...

At least you are on the waitlist! That is good too!! Maybe not what you hoped for, but I'm sure there are others out there that didn't even get on that. And you might be running around like a headless chicken (lol!!) but wouldn't that be great news if you got called off the waitlist! I'll cross my fingers for you!!

Good luck!!

i too got wailisted a few years ago at NECC then got the call in aug a week before school started and got into the program!
