Anyone know what potential consequences may exist if a patient has received two Pneumovax vaccines instead of one Pneumovax and one Prevnar vaccination? The Pneumovax vaccines were given many years apart, if that makes a difference.
A sore arm. Actually if a pneumococcal is given before age 65, it is recommended to administer a second dose at least 5 years later.
Immunize.org, Ask the Experts, is a great resource for questions about vaccines.
When we're unsure of vaccine status, we vaccinate ...so I'd say there's no harm in receiving two of the same.
