2 nursing interviews.... HELP!

Nurses General Nursing

Published

So I have 2 interviews coming up this week and I'm really excited. I've been a RN for about 6 months now, gaining my experience at and LTAC/SNF facility. I've applied for countless amounts of jobs but didn't receive any feedback because I either lacked experience or got too nervous and stammered during the interview. This month, I've finally reached the long awaited 6 month mark and I have 2 interviews scheduled. One is for the NICU unit of my dream facility on friday (1/6/17), this is my preferred job being that it's my whole reason for going into nursing and I plan on furthering my career as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner within the next 5 years. I've done a lot of research about the job description and the company and am strategically planning how I can relax and answer the questions appropriately. The 2nd one is kind of a job that has been offered to me to interview for because i'm overqualified for the nurse residency program. It's on a cardiac floor of a hospital i'm familiar with, but I would necessarily work there because I know there's a high turn over rate, not just for that unit but the hospital in general. I have that interview tomorrow (1/3/17) and I'm going back and forth in my head about going because even though it would help me get hospital experience, its not 100% where I want to work, but I don't want to pass up the opportunity just in case I don't get the other job. Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated? Also any advice or tips on how to prepare for my interviews will also be welcomed.

Thanks!

Go to both interviews

see what is offered.

then take what you feel is best for you....

if if you only get one offer from the two interviews, you will have less of a delima....

go for both

and best wishes

Definitely go to both interviews. It can only help your decision and give you better experience with interviewing if you felt your interviews in the past made you look nervous.

Update: I had the interview for the cardiac floor today. While I thought that the interview went really well, I unfortunately did not get the job. I do not take this as a loss, i'm very blessed with the opportunity to even interview and it better prepared me for the next one that I'm looking forward to.

How did the NICU interview go?

How did the NICU interview go?

The interview went really well, i'm waiting to hear back whether or not I've been offered the position. I received an offer for a position on the telemetry floor in a prison hospital, but my 1st choice is the NICU. Keeping hope alive lol.
