Hi everyone!
I just wanted to see if there is anyone else that is applying for the summer session at gcu for this year? Deadlines were almost a month ago and by previous times I have seen, we should find out next week on the 15th or so. I haven't seen anyone post anything about it though!
Glad I could help! So on that particular day I have one class from 8-12 and we get a lunch break and have lab from 1:30-5:30....it's tough but you get used to it. The professors will give you a break about every hour for 10-15 minutes. On thursdays i have a shorter lecture from 8-11 and a 2hr lunch break, then lab from 1-3. Fridays i dont have lab. I have 2 lectures, one from 8-11 and one from 2-5. However, I rarely get breaks in lab. As far as a day off. So far...everybody I know has at least one day off, but like I said, they utilize that as a day to study because once you get back from class you are so exhausted and don't feel like doing anything other than sleeping.
Another thing to note...once you receive your schedule, that's it. You can't change it like you've been able to in the past. Also, once you are placed in a clinical site, you cannot switch out, even if you have another person to switch with, you won't be allowed to swap. It's unfortunate but it's the sacrifice you have to make for nursing school. Feel free to ask all the questions you want. I have notifications on and check my email multiple times a day and will always respond when I find the time:)

You are so great for this! lol I totally just got very overwhelmed but I'm super thankful for the information. I noticed on another post you talked about getting a titer test & a tb test. Did you do those at your doctors or did you have to go to a certain place for that?
Of course! You can go anywhere for that! I actually went to the health center for that on campus! Just remember to always get documentation:)
Awesome, you are the best! :) I hope you don't mind if I ask one more question. I know you said that we should get our CPR by the American heart association so I was looking on their website for places to get certified and basically if it is on their website the certification should be from them correct? even though the location is just like a training center with a whole different name lol

Thank you so much for your reply! That sounds scary to fail out. I am super excited but nervous. You said you have class 8-530. Does that mean one class for that whole time?! Does everyone get a day off like you do or does it vary!
