GCU Summer 2015 hopefuls!

Published

Hello GCU summer applicants!

I figured someone else would have started a thread by now, but since they haven't I figured I would since the deadline is approaching in less than 2 weeks! I just wanted to know how everyone's application experience is going so far? Hopefully we can answer each others questions and this thread can serve as a place to share experiences especially while waiting for decisions.

I have my background check completed, my fingerprinting is in process, and I'm taking the HESI this week. I am super nervous!

I can't wait to hear from any of you who are applying! Don't be shy :) and good luck everyone!

So what is the deal for Fall '15 applicants?

You have to contact your Admissions Rep and fill out a new notice of intent if you want to purse for fall.

Transfer students are chosen third after TOP GPA (3.5+) and Highest HESI score GCU applicants and then middle GPA (3.0-3.49) and middle HESI score GCU students.

So not too good for us transfers. I found out today I got accepted for ASU Summer Fast Track so it looks like I may be doing that instead. Super excited, it's just so far and I won't be able to enjoy this summer. But I am really excited :)

Omg! That's amazing!! Congrats girl! See things are already looking up :)

Congrats, Amber301! I hope you love it!

For everyone wondering about the cost here is a breakdown from my fall statement and they semesters go up like $250 a credit i think is how it works because the clinical spots i believe is how they explained it... i don't really remember... my spring and summer were over $9,000 each. and books are not included in this amount. books first semester were like $600.. and they go down every semester since you use a lot of the same books.

I was also not asked to give a first, second, third choice so will need to talk to my advisor about that. I am not at all hopeful about GCU for the fall but will roll my application over anyway just in case. It's still the fastest program for me.

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Chamberlain yesterday. Super helpful people but bottom line probably $45-50k for me with all my transfer credits. I could probably get in there in the fall (my A&P is too old and I'd have to retake for them otherwise I could squeeze in by May 4 which evidently a lot of "us" are doing -- she said her phone had been ringing off the hook from GCU Summer applicants), but if I can get into CEP for the spring, I'm not sure I'd do the $45k over the $15k one semester later… Gah. This is all just so frustrating.

But YEAH Amber307 on getting into ASU - fabulous!

GCU can actually be cheaper than a lot of other programs out there including the CEP. But I don't know if they are changing the scholarship amounts. They seem to be changing everything else.

Has anyone heard anything new?

Nope. It's been quiet since we all got the official news from the webinar. My nursing advisor has been sweet and helpful. She was really apologetic. I guess the frustration is subsiding and now I'm just looking forward to getting in for spring somewhere.
