Hello GCU summer applicants!
I figured someone else would have started a thread by now, but since they haven't I figured I would since the deadline is approaching in less than 2 weeks! I just wanted to know how everyone's application experience is going so far? Hopefully we can answer each others questions and this thread can serve as a place to share experiences especially while waiting for decisions.
I have my background check completed, my fingerprinting is in process, and I'm taking the HESI this week. I am super nervous!
I can't wait to hear from any of you who are applying! Don't be shy :) and good luck everyone!
I hope you're right! My advisor said March when I asked him a few days ago. I'm not checking my email as much now because of that, but I'm still super anxious. Weren't the immunization meetings in February last year? I'm worried about the reason for the delay too. Like there were way too many applicants or something haha.
Right! I'm not sure about last year but I know for the fall it was within a week or so of the emails. Worried about all the St Joes applicants too, it seems like that's where everyone applied to. I didn't apply to AT Stills because I heard it was harder to get into so that was the next closest.
I'm sure your advisor would have the numbers on how many applicants applied to St. Joe's. And I heard the same about AT Still and GCU main campus being the hardest to get into. But we have a relatively small sample size on here so maybe everyone else applied elsewhere. Also, have you heard anything about scholarships? I heard they were going to be less starting this semester, but I'm not sure if that is true.
Glad I found this thread, I created an account to see about other summer GCU applicants as well! My advisor told me we would hear the last week of February or the first week of March, so I'm going to try to not even think about it until March 6th.
Did you hear from your advisor that a lot of folks applied to St. Joes or are you just going off the thread? From past threads, and similar to what Maycation said, I've heard that main campus and AT Stills are generally the most sought after locations. I applied to St. Joes for my first choice as well. I tried to get the number of applicants from my advisor but they answered my other questions instead :). Not too surprised that they don't want to give out all the info!
inxdisgust, I am going off the thread, other people I know, and when I took my HESI the few people I talked to in the waiting area said they were applying to St. Joe's or the main campus. But I know a lot of people who apply to the main campus already attend GCU so they probably already have a support system and may know more than us, so they don't feel the need to browse allnurses. I know there are only 24 spots at St. Joe's though, so hopefully there aren't too many more applicants out there lol. But I'd honestly be happy anywhere.
And I hope we find out sooner than March. Maybe the end of next week!

Has anyone heard yet? Last semester they emailed us all like Friday night around 6pm... I was on the alternate list so obviously didn't make it. Fingers crossed for this one. I also applied to St Joes.
