GCU Fall 2017

Published

Is there anyone else applying for GCU Fall 2017? I thought we could start a thread for all of us as we count down the days for deadline and the dreaded wait.

I did! Have you heard anything about Boswell's campus? Maybe we can all carpool or something cause its a bit of a drive!

Where do you live?

I drove out there today, I couldn't wait to see it! Are you in fast track or traditional? I can't wait to find out the specifics of our program!

What did you think of the campus? Please give us some details about the building, cause I was betting on being placed at MAIN! I'm very thankful and excited to be accepted no doubt, but I don't know what to expect about Boswell! Is the facility relatively new and updated? I did hear from several students that the Boswell program is much smaller, more organized, and has better instructors staffed there so I thought that was great news! Even though I will also be commuting an hour unless I can move closer out that way. I am in South Tempe, off of Warner and Priest! So FutureNA if you want to carpool I saw you said you live in Chandler! :) :)

Do you want to get in touch outside of here? I even have some pictures of it. :-) I would totally be open to carpooling!

Did anyone get any news about their acceptance today?

If I could post pictures here I would but the area is very nice. The GCU building is right next to the hospital and sits on a little lake. There's even water views from some of the classrooms. The parking, at least today, seemed very manageable and easy to get in and out of. Overall I'm actually very excited that I was placed there...apart from the extra 20 minutes drive time. The more I think about it, it might not be any worse time wise seeing that we will not be fighting the traffic right at GCU main or the parking issues that can arise there.

At least that's what I have my fingers crossed for.

http.kenny,

I was in the 2017 spring Boswell location, but I need to retake pharm... And space was not available in summer 2017, so I'm on the retake list for fall 2017. You see my whole class was told my our SSC that the retakes are on a "first come first serve bases," so if you applied to retake a class before the others who also need to retake, then you will have priority. And I know I was one the 1st people to apply for the retake, so I know I would get in, so I didn't try on the next 2 exams for pharm thinking I'm gona retake it anyway, so might as well study for other classes instead. But, other students who applied after me got in and I didn't. I later found out that it's not based on "1st come, 1st serve" bases; it's actually based on your grade in that class and the hesi score. Now, of course what happened to me was unfair, since I was told the wrong info and I simply acted according to the info; had I known the actual rules, I would have obviously tried for those 2 exams. And honestly, I'm not even gonna blame GCU, because I blame myself for relying on the information that my SSC told me. So I've learned to never trust people even if they are there to help you. Sorry, this is very lengthy, but I have a favor to ask from you: Can you please ask your friend who works w/ GCU how space is created for people who need to retake a course?

Ajot,

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience but thank you for sharing and getting the accurate information out. If you look back in the thread far enough, I was also lied to by the advisor that got me in to GCU. I feel like when these people are unsure they tend to go with what they've heard rather than finding out information on their own. It's troubling because these people are supposed to be helping us but are often not very helpful.

Hopefully you'll hear something tomorrow! Crossing my fingers for you.

Amanda, I sent you a message on here.

Did you ever get any news about you acceptance?

Has anyone else starting getting all of their medical stuff ready? It seems so surreal to be doing this stuff.
