Thanks -- I found your other thread on Monday when I got the news myself. I spent all day Monday crying and then picked myself up by Tuesday and started researching everything. I met with the CEP nursing advisor at Chandler-Gilbert today and I think I understand that whole process. Of course we MISSED the deadline for the Fall Group because of waiting on GCU. I'm so mad that I put all my eggs in the GCU basket. Leasson learned.
I was surprised that the price for the CEP is not SO far off of GCU. Roughly $13-23k depending on the program. I thought it would be TONS cheaper than GCU -- but it is about a year longer than the GCU fast track -- so have to take into consideration the money we could earn working as nurses during that year. I have to admit I feel like a jilted girlfriend though and sort of want to throw the baby out with the bathwater and just forget GCU - but it's still the fastest way to get what I want. I'm very worried about their lack of teachers/clinicals though -- not sure how to get the real scoop on that. Is everyone going to be watching the webinar in the morning?
Have they for SURE confirmed a fast track for fall? I heard that might also be cancelled?
Sounds like me on Monday.
I never got a webinar invite or a response. You will have to tell me what goes on.
Nothing is confirmed at this point obviously. It sucks so much. I can't believe what they put us through. I too want to get done with my degree ASAP, but I think we should just apply everywhere and take it how it comes.
I read about your situation this afternoon on another allnurses.com blog and am truly sorry to hear about the setback many of you are talking about. Fortunately, though, there are other options for us nurses. I am currently a nursing student at Brookline College and would definitely recommend the program to anyone who is interested in a career in nursing and wants to attend a high-quality program. The program is academically challenging and pushes me to assess and analyze the big picture of a patient's overall health status, not simply the issue or symptom that seems most obvious. With one semester remaining, I am confident that by the time I get my BSN degree, I will be prepared to pass NCLEX and join the work force as a great entry-level RN! I wish you luck on everything!

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if everyone is aware, but the GCU Summer 15 start date program was cancelled. They have informed everyone that Fall 15 fast track will still be going forward. That being said, Fall 15 will become more competitive with more applicants (a lot of the summer 15 applicants will apply for fall 15 now). I wanted to create this thread for all of us - fall 15 applicants and former summer 15 applicants/now fall applicants. With all that went down for summer, I want us to all be together and stay connected and updated with the fall program :)
