i was reading about the lpn fast track program at gateway and i have a question about this pre-req:
program prerequisites: credits: 6
current cna or advanced placement or
+ nur158 nurse assisting (6)
does this mean that you can just take the nurse assisting course with out actually having to take the state board afterward, like the nurse assisting credits are enough?

I have been struggling with this program all week. You have to have taken the nurse assisting course in the last year at one of the MCCCD schools if you don't have your license. If you show them your exam results, they must be recent as the board takes time to give you your license. Good luck, and the Fall 2008 program is only evenings and admission will be competitive.
I'd love to apply for fall but I doubt I'd even be ready by then! Do you have any information about Spring 2009?

Nur 158 is a good class, I would recommend it to anyone who has the time and is waiting for entry into the nursing program. The instructor does a really good job of laying the groundwork for the nursing process, which has been really beneficial and applicable in the actual nursing program.
All I know about Spring 2009 is that it will probably be a day program. I am sure the requirements will be the same.

If I remember correctly, the evening was just 2 or 3 evening a week right? What about the day program? I couldn't find anything about days and times for the day schedule.

The LPN Fast Track Spring 2009 program info has been posted at Gateway CC - and they have both a day and evening program! Info is here: http://nursing.gatewaycc.edu/NR/rdonlyres/2A190B3A-B5B3-4E07-83F0-99A827E2A360/0/AdmitPacketSpring09.pdf
