GA license by endorsement

Published

Hey guys! I just sent my application in to the GA BON for a license by endorsement. Anyone recently tried doing this and can give me a general time frame for my license to be posted? I sent my app on Tuesday and also my fingerprints to Cogent the same day. Any info would be great! :)

I filed on 5/10 and received an email on 5/26 that my license has been issued!í ½í¸ƒ

HI! Thank you so much for replying! I'm so glad to hear that it took 16 days!

Mine was about 10 days, endorsing from Virginia. It's pretty smooth as long as you submit everything correctly. :)

Hello, To print a free copy or order a copy, don't you need a PIN first before you create an UserID and password?

The Georgia BON doesn't issue hard copies unless you request/pay. You can look yourself up in their database and print that out, that's what I've done and what the BON recommends for verification. Verification

Thank you! :)

I called GA BON..they sent me a free copy via email. Thank you for your help! God Bless!

My license posted!!!

I know this thread is a little old but I figured I would comment just incase someone is in the same position I was in. I applied for a job in GA and got the position Feb 9th. I had taken the NCLEX the previous day (Feb 8th) and passed #woohoo. However, I registered to have my NCLEX taken for FL, my home-state. My recruiter said I needed to have a GA RN license by the 22nd to secure the position. So I scrambled and got the entire endorsement packet together and mailed it off Feb 10th. The packet arrive at the GA Board of Nursing Feb 13th as far as what USPS tracking said but it wasn't logged into the GA system until Feb 14th officially. Today is Feb 17th and my GA license came in so by the grace of God I got my GA RN license in exactly 4 business days. For me, this is a miracle because I can keep this job now.

I will say that I am a recent new grad nurse so I didn't submit any employment verification paperwork, I don't have a criminal background or health history, and I got my fingerprints done in GA on Feb 9th while I was interviewing in GA for the position. I also made sure everything they explicitly asked for in the packet was in there and organized. I think all of this sped up the process for me. I also called the GA BON everyday and explained my situation, not sure if that did anything but hey who really knows, either way I thankful. If you are trying to have your license endorsed in GA quickly and have a similar background it's possible. I was told it could take up to 15 business days and I got it in 4. Good luck to all.

Praise God for how quickly this was done! I'm in my last semester and due to graduate in May and plan to test as quickly in June as quickly as I get my ATT. Can you tell me if you submitted any paperwork in advance of taking the NCLEX or did you have to wait until after you took it? I'd like to do anything possible to get the endorsement process going to have one less thing to stress about. You have done an amazing job laying out the process for all of us. A huge THANK YOU for this blueprint of how to get our GA license since we're all out of state.
