Future Conneticut student

Looking into Nursing schools local to Madison, CT. Looking into Stone, Excelcier, porter, any thoughts...do's/dont's. I started nursing school and was in my last semester for LPN (out of state a few years back) however, being 9 months pregnant I was unsuccessful.... Now son is almost school age and I'm ready to try again.

Single mother, A&Ps & Chem all past 5 years old. I'll stay with family, so that I won't have to work. I'm looking for a solid program, not too many strings and that care about helping the students learn.

I feel like a kero saying this. CT did away with the State LPN programs this year. Was affordable and a really great program. Now the only LPN programs around are at private schools that cost $30K. Can achieve for a little less possibly an Associates Degree in Nursing at the Community Colleges or a BSN for $30K to $50K depending what classes have already completed, scholarships, aid, and so forth.

Specializes in GENERAL.

I think you can do better than the 30-50K quote.

Go to (collegescorecard.ed.gov) to look up what may be a good fit for you. And based on your demographic stay away from the loan you up for-profits.

Their primary business is pushing loans and "oh, yeah, some folks actually do graduate" but to debt peonage.
