I was just taking a break from cleaning out my closet, AKA "the batcave" (I have a lot of black clothing, what can I say?), and out of curiosity I looked back through all my posts to see when I joined allnurses. Here is my first post:

LOL!! That post is from exactly three years ago (August 10, 2005). How funny!!!

Needless to say, that Virginia program I referenced in that post didn't work out ... it was a P-to-RN in Richmond at a community college, and the Richmond-area Paramedics got first dibs on the few spots that were open each semester (it was an online/in-person hybrid). The school basically told me I'd never get in with all the Richmond folks ahead of me. Okay, fine. So here I am three years later, a proud EC grad! :D All's well that ends well!

yes, the path not taken......I was told after leaving the school I was at..you have a very good potential to be a goood nurse but we dont know what is going on yes, yes politics and favorites but we cant let our dreams and possibilities be overriden by adverse opinions...I came to where I am (from north to south) to help out during hurricane to find yes the decision of what I thought wasnt the choice that was being made for my path...now Im on that journey once again to pursue what my destiny is....

:)

Mission accomplished!

I also have a bazillion credits. Finally getting a degree for some of them.

Yep! :) I'm eyeballing a number of RN-BSN programs right now, too ...

Another funny thing -- I went looking for that paramedic-to-RN program's website yesterday, to see if they'd opened more seats for people, and I couldn't find it on their website anymore -- I guess the program closed. Glad I went the way I did. :)

Good thing Girly! Sometimes we are directed differently then we think is best...and all turns out better than we could ever believe:yeah:
