If you do a raffle check with your local township/state regulations you may need a raffle license. Some municipalities restrict raffles to IRS recognized not-for-profit entities, others allow raffles by anyone who can pay the raffle license fee as long as it is clear where the funds are going.
Some groups do a tricky-tray type event which often does not require a raffle license. Be sure to check with your school administration to be sure your fundraising ideas are acceptable. Some schools will use their not-for-profit status and student activity fund/dept to allow school groups to raise funds. I know some areas the fines and fees can be more than the funds raised so it's best to determine what is permitted before starting the hard work.
Edited to add-- also check about food sales, some areas anything other than a bake sale requires dept. of health approval Been there done that didn't even get the t-shirt

I'm looking for ways to raise money for our nursing program graduation. We had some ideas like raffle tickets and food sale. Any others that would be great to do and not I time consuming, please let me know!
