Is it possible for an ADN to work 12hr night shifts on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) while attending school full-time during the week days to achieve a BSN? Most classes I'd be scheduling myself for would be during the afternoon times so I can get at least 4-5 hours before classes. I'd be taking the basic full-time credit hours of 15-16 credit hours. I could possibly get away with working two night shifts. I'm very used to running on 5-6 hours of sleep and have occasionally pulled off 27hrs of no sleep and had no issues then.
How hard will it be? What would you suggest?

I'm no help...I'm wondering the same thing. I'm starting an accelerated BSN program in the fall and wondering if I'll be able to do one or two night shifts during the weekend. It'd be nice for getting some homework done. But it says on the website that you shouldn't try to work while in the program :/

I work every other Saturday night (12 hour shift) and Monday's are REALLY difficult because of having to change from nights to days with just one day in between. I am also a natural night person so my body prefers nights anyway, making it that much harder to go back to days.
I'm in an entry level Master's program and while I would say it's "doable" I'm not sure it's the wisest decision I've ever made, and continue to make. When I have the weekend off it is SO NICE that I don't have to rush to get school stuff done and can enjoy the process more.

It depends on the classes and your abilities but I say that's fine if the BSN classes are more about self-reflection and research. If your class load consisted of pure sciences, I would have second thoughts. I no longer work the night shift but I do work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and have school Mondays through Thursdays. I had 16 units, now 12 since one class is done. I would not continue with this kind of schedule since it sucks up fun time, and I am in no rush to finish my BSN.
