FSW SPRING 2020

Hello!!

I'm creating this forum to keep in touch with upcoming nursing students interested in applying to the FSW 2020 nursing program. How many of you have taken the TEAS and are ready to apply?

I hope this year the offer the ANEW program for spring 2020 since last year they did not take any applications for the ANEW program.

I'm looking forward on hearing from other future students...

I emailed my advisor to check into the ANEW program being discontinued and the nursing program assistance emailed me back and said that they will indeed still have the ANEW program for spring. I hope to apply as for the ANEW spring 2020 program. I take my TEAS on 7/24.

Hi. It was never discontinued, but last spring they did not offer the ANEW program. I'm glad they'll have the program this coming spring. If I can get a decent score on my TEAS I plan on applying also.

Do you have a plan b in case you don't make it?

I submitted my application for spring 2020 (Lee ANEW) on 8/7.

I am cautiously optimistic

My program specific gpa is a 3.64 and I received an 86.7 on the TEAS.

(83 total points)

Awesome scores! Good luck!! I keep looking to see what were the points for last semester but the applicant profile for last semester hasn’t been posted

Hi! I’m glad someone started a group for spring 2020! I just took my teas and got a 77.. definitely not what I wanted .. I have 7 out of 9 courses done and 3.6 gpa .. but still only leaves me with 63 points.. just curious on opinions about that score.. I plan on taking the teas again for sure, I just really feel it’s such a low score : (... also what is program specific gpa?.. because I do have a couple courses I’ve taken that have a “c”, everything required for nursing I have “A”’s in. Hope to hear from you!

77 is a good score. I seen ppl get in with a total of 52 points. As for your gpa, they only count the courses required for nursing ( AP 1/2, STATS, micro, nutrition, humanities....

btw, you can take the test 3 times per calendar year so if you're not happy with your score you can test again. The app deadline is Oct 15 I believe. You can test 30 days from your original test date.

I totally ended up calling to speak to a counselor! Lol which luckily I have a 4.0 gpa now that I know it’s program specific. But that still only brings my total to 69 points so I plan to take it again in 30 days. Thanks for replying!

Hello Everyone,

I am thinking about applying. I completed all the courses and preparing to take the TEAS soon. Are you applying for the ANEW or Traditional class?

I’m applying for the ANEW program, lee campus

I'm currently finishing up to apply for the Fall term of 2020 but too discouraged to even bother. I am re doing my TEAS to improve a score in a few weeks, and have just one final class to do the next semester to apply. However I doubt I will get in, just not smart enough. I'm very happy for everyone who has been accepted or has the high chance of it. Good luck to you guys. I've just decided it's way better go give up. I can't do it, or get into the program in the Fall. Good luck to you guys. ?

Do not give up! Apply and if you don’t get in then try again! It’s not about being smart enough .. it’s about being consistent, you’ll catch on and it will click. Don’t sell yourself short.

If nursing is something you’re passionate about don’t give up! If you think you did too poorly on a class speak with your guidance counselor as some classes have other options. For example sociology can replace psychology and vise versa. Buy the ATI TEAS study secrets guide (yellow and black book). It’s loaded with good information.
