FSW Fall 2016 Nursing Applicants

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a thread for those of us that are planning on applying to the nursing program for fall 2016. We can post about studying for the HESI/TEASE. FSW has changed from the HESI beginning Febuary 2016, so those of you that haven't already taken it you must take the HESI before Febuary 1st. If not you will need to plan on studying for the TEASE. Application deadline is May 15th. We can post about our points, most of you know what that consist of. Students are admitted off from a point system, the higher the points the better chance you have of being selected for the program. Our points is based off how many prerequisites we have taken upon application, our gpa for those prerequisites we have taken. And finally our HESI or TEASE score. For those of you that haven't taken the HESI or TEASE we can plan a study group either online or in person. I'm a in my final class required to apply (AP I), in another school. I will have 7 courses completed upon application so that gives me 29 points for that. I have not taken the HESI yet so I don't know my points for that yet. I haven't been able to figure out my final gpa yet because I'm in this last course. But I hope to get to know some of you and I hope one day we will even be in class together!

My drug test only took a day to appear on castlebranch. I had it done at lab Corp. You should look into it, you don't want to lose your spot since its not showing up completed. I got my orientation packet today as well.

Anyone know where we can get the scrubs in collier? They only listed Hamiltons which is in punta gorda.

Yeah that's what I worried about, I'm gonna go to labcorp tomorrow after work in the morning, not sure if they'll be able to give me any information on what happened with my test. 😧

Am I the only one stressed here? I'm worried about getting the right uniform, registering for the right BLS. Do we wear the purple polos and the white uniform or is it a choice? Where do I get BLS certification for healthcare professionals. I just can't wait to get it all in! The packet just added to my anxiety!

Can someone recommend a place in Collier where titer or immunizations can be done? I'm sure I need boosters.

I'm confused about registering for classes. The 3 clinical options to choose from all say "MTF" so which one is Monday, Tuesday, or Friday? Lol

and pharmacology is on "T" overlapping the same time as clinical so how are we supposed to register for it if it's a time conflict?

Hey! Well I just called castle branch. I was told by lab corp to call their customer service and then they told me to call castle branch. They got my information and said they were going to get with labcorp to locate my specimen and upload the results. She said it would take about 24-48 hours. Give them a call and get them working on it ASAP so it doesn't affect your eligibility for the program either.

Thank you so much! I contacted Castle Branch and they said it might go through today so I'm just going to keep checking. I emailed Wendy and let her know as well.

Yes I let Edna know about it. Just my luck she will be out of her office til the 6th lol
