FSW Fall 2016 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a thread for those of us that are planning on applying to the nursing program for fall 2016. We can post about studying for the HESI/TEASE. FSW has changed from the HESI beginning Febuary 2016, so those of you that haven't already taken it you must take the HESI before Febuary 1st. If not you will need to plan on studying for the TEASE. Application deadline is May 15th. We can post about our points, most of you know what that consist of. Students are admitted off from a point system, the higher the points the better chance you have of being selected for the program. Our points is based off how many prerequisites we have taken upon application, our gpa for those prerequisites we have taken. And finally our HESI or TEASE score. For those of you that haven't taken the HESI or TEASE we can plan a study group either online or in person. I'm a in my final class required to apply (AP I), in another school. I will have 7 courses completed upon application so that gives me 29 points for that. I have not taken the HESI yet so I don't know my points for that yet. I haven't been able to figure out my final gpa yet because I'm in this last course. But I hope to get to know some of you and I hope one day we will even be in class together!

I honestly don't know why they didn't get in. I got a 83% and just found out I only had 65 total points. I think they look for well rounded students I was above average in all three categories but it only added up to a mere 65

Yeah I had 64 points and was accepted. I think it also has to do with the campus of choice

When do we get our official packets

She said about 2-4 weeks after the registration deadline but they don't have an exact date

Did we have to do anything besides the finger prints and drug tests? On previous posts I saw they had to be up to date on all shots

I know we have to be CPR certified, but I hope we know exactly which immunizations we have to get. Hepatitis is a 3 part series that you can't get all at once, if I remember correctly with dental hygiene. So many hoops.

I'm sure they'll let us know. But if you haven't had your hepatitis they can do a titer to see if you're immune

I was wondering about that, since I had Hep. shots years ago...and have no idea where my records are.

I got into the collier program!!! Anyone else??

If I remember correctly you basically need a physical and to be uo to date on shots and prove you dont have TB

I did! I'm going to be the oldest one there (second career) and will probably mother everybody lol.

I got into collier also :) so excited!
