I did not see that a thread was posted yet for FSW Summer 2017 ASN enrollment. Applications just recently started being accepted so I thought I would create a page for people to talk/ discuss the program.

Hey there!

I'm pretty sure white nonskid shoes of any kind are appropriate just no colors whatsoever. As far as the stethoscope, a Littman should suffice. We just auscultate lung sounds, heart sounds, and bowel sounds so you will have plenty of time to upgrade in the future depending on your discipline (cardiology, PEDs etc..)

You can purchase the uniforms at Hamilton's uniforms I believe.

I am not sure what is available in the area, but FSW does offer housing on campus.

Thanks. Just bought some white (no color label) New Balance at Kohl's. Amazon has some good deals on Littman. Do you know what color scrubs we can wear during lab/class? Also, does anyone out there know how many people applied to the ANEW program, 2017?

Forget going to Hamilton's Uniforms. What a terrible place - everything marked up way too high; poor selection; poor customer service; and nothing in stock for male nursing uniforms/scrubs. I ordered everything from Allheart.com. Just need to find an embroiderer now.

Hey everyone.

Anyone know exactly what books we need (1st yr. nursing) for FSW ANEW Summer, 2017. I got an email with the Course/CRN numbers, but no pics or ISBN #'s. The FSW Bookstore is charging a fortune for a "Bundle" package. I would rather find them used somewhere online. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Now that you guys are a couple of weeks into the ANEW program at FSW, what are your impressions? What does a typical week look like in regards to your schedule?

the Anew Summer 2017 program consists of two online classes fopr Health and wellness and Pharm. Practicum is on Tuesday nights and clinicals are on Saturdays and Sundays during the day. 4 weekends out of the semester we have clinical and Sim lab the whooe weekend.

Cool, thanks for the reply. How do you find the online learning format? Do you feel like you are able to easily pick up the material in comparison to a full time "in class" setting?
