Is anyone applying for either or both schools for Fall semester? Has anyone heard any updates since the COVID?

I am applying Fall 2020 FSCJ.

Have you applied already? And have you already taken your HESI exam?

I applied for UNF. So far, I heard that they pushed the deadline back one month. Now, the deadline should be June 1.

Hello, I am applying for the fall term and have taken my HESI. I want to retake my HESI to get a better score since I have 3 C's from a few years back and they will not let me retake the course. Have you guys heard anything else?

Just received an email today that they've also cancelled the TEAS requirement for Fall. The GPA is now worth 50%.

Last that I've heard, many locations were not doing testing and some schools have cancelled the requirement.

Yea I talk to an advisor at FSCJ today and she said they are still trying to figure it out. She said they just may not let anyone apply who hasn’t taken the HESI

Oh WOW!, that will probably be a good chunk of people! I was scheduled to retake my HESI next month, but now I'm not able to. I applied anyway with my current scores. Luckily, you've already taken yours and can still apply.

Oh, that's interesting. I was about to take the TEAS test next month, but I guess I can cancel it now. Anyways, hopefully my GPA isn't too bad to help me get in. Probably will also bring more competition too. Wish all of you the best of luck!!

Hi everyone!
I will be applying to UNF for Fall 2020 also and I’m not sure what a competitive cumulative GPA would be considered?
I have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and a 3.96 Pre-rec GPA, but I’m afraid my cumulative is low?
If you guys don’t mind sharing I would appreciate it so much! ?

Hi snowflake,

According to UNF faq website, it stated that the Summer 2010 cohort average GPA is 3.67-3.82. Based on that, your cumulative GPA may be a bit low, but I won't give up on too much hope because your prereq GPA is amazing. Anyways, the prereq GPA is 35% and the cumulative GPA is 14% of final admission.

Also, based on the most recent update email from Dr. Beth Dibble, you can use your TEAS score to replace your cumulative GPA; however, you have to make sure that you request that by emailing her at [email protected].

Hopefully that helps and good luck! ?

I also received that email, but it mentioned the email was for those who were referred. I believe who's already had a departmental refer from their academic advisor. I'm not sure if there are any other incoming instructions for Fall 2020 for those who have not had a departmental refer just yet or who are new UNF applicants.
