FSCJ Spring 2014 hopeful

Published

I haven't found anything for spring 2014 hopefuls so I wanted to put it out there and meet any other applicants. I am currently taking chem over the summer & I am enrolled in micro for fall. I took my NAT yesterday. I will be applying in Aug for a spring start with 204.32 points. I am hoping to make it in spring rather than having to finish micro and need those points, pushing me back to summer start. Almost 2 years of pre-reqs and sweating it out, it's almost our turn to apply  I am stoked!!!

Hello ladies,

I'm new to this board and applying for entrance to nursing. I have to agree with the previous posts about your pre reqs being the best guide for the NAT. I'm taking it tomorrow at 11:50 at Kent.

I have a general question for everyone about the nursing application. I put a request for my transcripts last Sunday and have yet to receive them. I'm already a student at FSCJ do I need the official transcripts or can I print off my grades from Connections? Getting worried because the deadline is Tuesday.

You can print the transcript from connections so long as all of your pre-reqs were done there.

Whew, right!

Good luck on your NAT :)

Greetings! I am fairly new to allnurses, however, I have been following this forum for quite sometime now... To make a long story short, my average points is 181.48... Is their any chance I may be considered? This is my second time applying... I currently work at Baptist medical center South, I obtained my A.A degree in May... I am so anxious to move forward... Good luck to all the Spring hopefuls :)

I think If you read back through the forms last semester someone said the lowest that got accepted was right at 187 I think. I am right with you and retaking my nat monday to try to increase my points. I'm going to get 15 points more at least. If I do achieve that I will apply Monday!!! If not I'm also applying to the radiology program so I'm going to get into one of them.

Cool! My plan B is the lpn program I should know by Oct if im accepted into the lpn program as well, my greatest wish is the r.n program... How long is the radiology program? Are you not interested in lpn?

After the RN acceptance letters are sent many people decline their seats. That opens up acceptance for some who were originally declined. I am pretty sure on past boards from previous years i have seem the score of second round acceptances, for lack of better wording, be in the high 170's.

If you have time, do a search on FSCJ hopefuls & read the last few pages of various years & semesters.

Good Luck!!

Hoping you did well on your test today with no test anxieties!!! :D

The Radiology program is 22 months. I am having a hard time figuring out which program I want to actually be in. I am a paramedic and have seen and worked with both in the ER. I have many nurse friends that are just burned out. So I figure I will apply to both and see which my Destiny is lol. I should have 20 extra points for experience but I haven't worked in 6 years due to having 3 children. So now I'm ready to get back in the game!! The rn program won't accept medical hands on experience if not within 5 years.

Just need to be printed from connections

So I took the NAT again today and my point pretty much stayed the same. I applied however not looking to get accepted since my score is lower than most that do get seats. We will see fingers crossed anyway.

Thanks for the answers. My transcripts arrived in the mail the next day so that saved me a lot of trouble. I took my NAT and did really well. My overall score is 214.4 so I'm hoping that'll get me in. I dropped my application yesterday in person. Anyone know if spring semester will be at Deerwood or North?

Great score! you have nothing to worry about. The nursing program is held at North campus I am grateful to know fscj takes the highest score from both attempts, with that said, I brought my score up by 2 points (183) every pt help ;-)... I am sure praying this is my appointed time to get accepted into the program
